David Wheildon Oosthuizen was born in Durban in 1946. Educated at Hilton College and thereafter attended the Durban Art School for three years. David spent his working life in textiles and floor coverings product development. At home meanwhile, he was developing his own unique painting style.
Widely travelled, he has enjoyed sights and sounds around the world and always found returning home the time and place to express the excitement of life in his work. His artistic heritage comes from Thomas WHEILDON, who in 1764 had SPODE and WEDGWOOD as his apprentices in his pottery business in England.
David’s subject matter covers anything that captures his attention, wildlife, landscapes, people or anything his clients want as a commission.
